A full sister to The Big M's newest track record holder Lexus Kody, Lexus Angel has continued to make strides in her own young career. The Shannon Henry student made her latest start on Thursday, April 11 in the $18,000 Ontario Sired Spring Series Trot for sophomore trotting fillies at Woodbine Mohawk Park a winning one.

The 10-race card at the Campbellville oval hosted three divisions of the first leg of the series, each carrying an $18,000 purse with two pace splits joining Lexus Angel's trot division. The Ontario Sired Spring Series is open to Ontario-sired sophomore trotters and pacers that were non-winners of $30,000 in 2023.

All Out Marilyn (Louis-Philippe Roy) took the early lead to the opening panel in :27.4 while Enchanted Angel (Bob McClure) followed in second and Lexus Angel (Trevor Henry) stalked in third. Henry tipped Lexus Angel to the outside and they swept to the lead. They set two more panels in :58.4 and 1:29, accelerating through the final quarter to win by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:57.1. All Out Marilyn finished second with Enchanted Angel completing the triactor.

Lexus Angel (Archangel-Lexus Helios) is owned by Trevor Henry Stables Inc. and Norm Dunstan as she moved her career record to 3-1-0-1 in five starts. She returned $4.30 to her backers.

Lightning Lizzie was lightning fast in her gate-to-wire triumph in the series split for sophomore pacing fillies.

Driven by Sylvain Filion, the Murray Brethour student sprinted from post six to take command of the timer. The pair opened up through every panel in :27.2, :57 and 1:26.2 before rushing home to a 5-1/4-length triumph in 1:53.3. Catch My Breath (James MacDonald) finished second with Le Bec Fin (Bob McClure) third.

Lightning Lizzie (Betterthancheddar-Lilli Maid) is owned by Brethour, Glenn Tarver, Bruce Northover and Jason Churchill. She earned her second victory in two career starts and returned $2.70 to win as the bettors' choice.

Bob McIntosh and Filion were the right match in the final series split for sophomore pacing fillies as Right Match pocketed the victory in the swiftest time of the evening's series action, a mile in 1:53.

Always A Catch (Louis-Philippe Roy) was the pacesetter for the mile through panels in :26.3, :55.3 and 1:24.1 while Right Match followed in second. Filion tipped Right Match out in the third panel and the filly kept on going to win by a half length. Think Ahead (Trevor Henry) finished second and Always A Catch took third.
