Davis opened and closed his five-win night with back-to-back triumphs. He first steered five-year-old trotter Groom Hanover ($4) to victory lane in race four for trainer Sean Mehlenbacher and then sent seven-year-old pacer Yankee Luke ($34.80) from last to first in the following dash for Kevin McMaster.
Six-year-old pacer Amazing Quest (Badlands Hanover) ($3.70) later cruised wire-to-wire to win the eighth for Davis Jr. and his father, trainer Bill Davis.
Davis Jr. closed out the program with wins aboard seven-year-old pacer Hurtin Albertan ($23.50), trained by Martin Lachance, and four-year-old pacer American Captain ($3.20) for Victor Puddy.
Fresh off a career-best $5 million season in which he won 460 times, the Cambridge, Ont. reinsman has won 96 races so far this year, including 48 at the Dundas oval, and has banked $812,663 in purses. After Sunday's card, he leads the nation with three more wins over Jody Jamieson and sits third in the earnings category.
