My Boss, Whichwayrightrleft and Call Me Hal registered opening leg victories in Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) freshmen male trots Tuesday at Dover Downs, but the star of the card was driver Corey Callahan thanks to his six-win performance.

Meet-leading Callahan was kept out of the winner’s circle in the first six races on the card before getting on the score sheet with Ravishnmasterpiece (1:57) in Race 7. He came right back with A Fortunes Legacy (1:58) in Race 8 and then again with Master Stroke (1:55.1) in Race 9.

He swept the final three races – Sound The Belle (1:59.2), Coco Count (1:58.3) and Hillcrest Suites (1:55.2) - on the 15-race card to complete his very productive day at the office.

In the first $20,000 DSBF preliminary, I Like My Boss, driven by Jonathan Roberts for trainer Bob Shahan and Jimmy and A.M. Parsons, wore down betting choice LGs Pride by mid-stretch and then held off fast finishing Bosston BNZ in 2:01.3. LGs Pride was third. The victory for the Don Boss Vita–Wild One gelding came in his first lifetime start.

Whichwayrightrleft, a Crown Prince Gar-French Doll gelding, leased and trained by veteran Sylvanus King, Jr., recorded his sixth victory in his 10 freshman starts winning by a nose in 2:01.3. Winbak Charles M was a game second, while Boos The Boss finished third.

Call Me Hal, one of Vic Kirby’s three wins, scored a 2:02.1 triumph in the third $20,000 DSBF division. The altered son of CR Commando-Call Me Hazel, bred and owned by Winbak Farm, racked up his second of the year.

The second $20,000 DSBF colt and gelding trot prelims are set for next Tuesday.
