Winbak Farm of Maryland seeks a Foaling Manager. The farm is located in Chesapeake City, Maryland about an hour south of Philadelphia and north of Baltimore.

 

Winbak Farm’s Foaling Manager will assist and/or help manage the foaling of close to 300 mares from January-July. It is required for the manager to have foaling experience. The position will require the prospective candidate to coordinate with the broodmare manager and farm veterinarian in determining when to move horses to and from the foaling barn, assessing health of broodmares and foals, administering treatments in coordination with the farm vet, keeping accurate foaling, health, and movement records, and assisting when needed in problem deliveries. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.

 

The Manager should be available to live on the farm so to be able to easily assist if an emergency arises. Farm housing and vehicle are provided. 

 

Winbak Farm has a trained and experienced foaling staff to assist the Manager. For most of the foaling season, there will be a team of 8 employees to help in the day-to-day operation of the barns and paddocks, as well as 2-3 foaling employees to watch the barn during the evenings and overnight.
