Paris, France — Beads (sired by Archangel) and bred by Atlantic Trot and Steve Stewart, was an easy winner of the main event, the Prix de Luxembourg, Saturday afternoon (Jan. 28) at Vincennes.

Beads, with trainer/driver Jean Michel Bazire, won in a new race record of 1:53 (mile rate) and picked up the winner’s purse of 45,000 Euro.

This was the first time Beads won a race since he was sold to European owners a year ago. Beads is now owned by a Swedish/Norwegian partnership.

Breeder Steve Stewart and his wife, Cindy, were present at Vincennes and were handed a big bottle of champagne in the winner’s circle after the race.
