g>Dover DE --- Following a two month hiatus from racing Monochromatic came back as if she hadn’t been away, closing strongly to win the $23,000 Filly and Mare Open/Handicap pace at Dover Downs on Monday, Dec. 3.

 

During the last two seasons, Monochromatic has been nearly invincible in the upper ranks at Dover. Again this time, Corey Callahan guided the 7-year-oldDream Away-Miss Ty mare to her 10th win of the year in 1:51.1 for North State Street Stable. Roger Plante steered Rock N Load from off the pace to close fast for second in front of Chancey Lady and Ross Wolfenden. Monochromatic, a Dylan Davis-trainee, has now won $138,375 in 2012 and $531,860 lifetime.

 

The 16,500 sub-feature for 3.4&5-year-old fillies and mares was taken by Alexachase for her second win in the last three starts. Bret Brittingham swing the Bettor’s Delight-Jett Away 4-year-old three wide at the top of the lane and motored past to a lifetime fastest victory of 1:51.2. Don Brittingham trains the winner for Johnny and Kimberley Waite. Madges Lil Fortune (Jim Morand) cut out the pace with Lorrie Please (Eric Carlson) coming on for third. Alexachase has won five times this year earning $49,210 and $205,934 in her career.
