Zip The Lip, with Brodie MacPhee in the bike, won the evening’s trot class by a seven-length margin in 2:00.1. Donald Sweet does the training for owner Melvin Willis of Cambridge, Ontario.
Racing returns Saturday at 6 p.m. at Charlottetown while Red Shores Summerside plays host to a Sunday program at 1 p.m.
