>Brief Bliss and driver/co-owner Stephen Quinn came off a pocket ride behind pacesetter Toughest Of All to score an impressive 1:56 victory in Thursday’s featured event at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.


Dreamfair Van Dam battled hard in the stretch but settled for second, while Blue Star Outlaw closed hard to complete the triactor. Fractions for the mile were :28.2, :57.3 and 1:26.4. Brief Bliss is also owned by John Quinn of Charlottetown and picks up his sixth win of the season.

 

Zip The Lip, with Brodie MacPhee in the bike, won the evening’s trot class by a seven-length margin in 2:00.1. Donald Sweet does the training for owner Melvin Willis of Cambridge, Ontario.

 

Racing returns Saturday at 6 p.m. at Charlottetown while Red Shores Summerside plays host to a Sunday program at 1 p.m.
