The biggest surprise of the 3-year-old pacing filly division came when Blush With Pride outbrushed 2012 champion Inittowinafortune in the closing strides in 1:55.1 over the track labeled ‘sloppy.’ Owned by Ben Stafford and Winbak Farm, Blush With Pride, a daughter of Rustler Hanover-Jenna’s Joy, made her first start of the year a winning one. Tim Tetrick drove Inittowinafortune to second-place with Ally Wishes, the early leader driven by Tony Morgan, third.
In the second DSBF prelim, Ben Stafford Jr. came right back to complete the daily double by driving Joel and Diane Halpern’s homebred Bags Of Stars, sired by Roddy’s Bags Again from CB Star, to a 1:56.4 success. Dream N Ezy finished second forRon Pierce with Lookout Stokk Zone andCorey Callahan, third.
Su-Mar Racing and trainer Crissy Bier’s Women Rule, with Tim Tetrick in the bike, overcame starting from the outside and scored a 1:56.2 triumph in the third $20,000 section. Grace Of An Angle was a tight second with George Dennis and KJ’s Caroline handled by Vic Kirby took third. The win by the Rustler Hanover- The Beastress filly was her fourth of the season in her last five starts.
The 2nd of two DSBF prelims are set for next Monday. Tuesday, two $20,000 DSBF sophomore filly trots are on the program.
