Yonkers, NY --- Yonkers Raceway has announced a purse increase for its races featuring younger pacers.
Beginning with the racing week of Monday, April 1, the non-winners of two pari-mutuel races and/or $20,000 lifetime goes for $15,000 (up from $10,000), while the non-winners of four pari-mutuel races and/or $40,000 lifetime goes for $18,000 (up from $13,000). Both classes are restricted to 3- and 4-year-olds, regardless of gender.
All other classes and conditions remain with their current purse structures, which were raised for the race week beginning tonight.
A friendly reminder, too, that nominations for the 2013 Lawrence B. Sheppard Pace (2-year-old colts and geldings) close a week from today (Monday, April 1). Forms are available in the nightly racing program and online atwww.yonkersraceway.com.
