DOVER, Del. --- Luscious Leigh and Country Romance are favorites in separate Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) $20,000 first of two preliminary legs for sophomore filly trotters on the Tuesday, March 26 program at Dover Downs. Post time is 4:30 p.m.

 

Bred, owned and trained by John Wagner, Vic Kirby will drive Luscious Leigh in the first DSBF division The CR Commando-Fox Valley Mo chestnut is making her first start of 2013 after winning four of her eight races last year including sweeping both her prelims and $100,000 final. Her 2:00.4 win last November was the fastest of the filly series.  Onery Inc.’s Podium, handled by trainer Dylan Davis, and Serendipity Stable’s homebred Sugartime and Tony Morgan lead the opposition.  

 

William Moffet Inc.’s Country Romance (Allan Davis) was the favorite in the $100,000 DSBF Final at Harrington last November, is the one to beat in the second $20,000 prelim. Starlit Eyes (Ross Wolfenden), owned by Jeff Franklin, Winbak Farm and LeBlanc Racing; Bosston Chevel (George Dennis) racing for Don Marine and trainer Bob Shahan and Sal Sciarrino’s Glitter Galore (Tony Morgan) are among the challengers.

 

On the regular card, Harry von Knoblauch’s Ashes N Dust (Tony Morgan) steps up after two straight wins in the $20,000 Male Claiming pace.  Angelo Frassetto and Claim To Fame’s Go Both Ways (Eddie Davis Jr.), Don Reed and Jim Tessmer’s Four Starz Louie and Michelle and Albert Crawford’s Speculative Edge (Vic Kirby) and Bill Emmons’ Lord Terror (Allan Davis) from post 8 are among the eight starters.

 

Anders Bluestone and He’s Spooky head a talented field in the $23,000 Open trot, Wednesday’s feature race.
