>Caledon, Ontario—Badlands Hanover and Blissfull Hall returned to Winbak of Canada this morning after spending the latter part of 2009 Down Under for the Southern Hemisphere’s breeding season. Badlands Hanover stood in New Zealand at Nevele R Stud, and Blissfull Hall stood in Australia at Empire Stud.

“Both horses look great. They got in this morning, and both were turned out in their paddocks for a romp this afternoon. We are expecting Royal Mattjesty back on Wednesday,” stated Larry Drysdale, Winbak Canada’s Farm Manager.

Badlands and Blissfull both arrived in Los Angeles on Sunday, were in a brief quarantine there, then shipped to Indianapolis and picked up for a final return to Ontario.  Royal Mattjesty will be doing this same routine this weekend.

Badlands Hanover had a great 2009, moving to Ontario and breeding a full book. His progeny went onto excel with Tug River Princess and Mr Wiggles both becoming Badland’s newest millionaires.

Blissfull Hall, the 1999 Pacing Triple Crown winner, also bred a large book of 125 mares in 2009 and is now the sire of 10 sub-1:50 winners with progeny earnings over $39 million.

Royal Mattjesty, who stood at the Australian Stallion Station in Australia made his freshman debut with 2-year-olds in 2009 producing Bay Girl, who finished 3rd in Ontario Sire Stakes Earnings and was Gold Series Leader in 2009. And already in 2010 his freshman crop is flexing their muscles with Kim’s Quest winning The Blizzard Series Final.
