Ranger sent Handsome Harry to the front from post position six and cut fractions of :26.3, :55.4 and 1:23.4 before hanging in and hanging on at the wire in 1:52. Kashability (Jim Taggart, Jr.) popped out of third down the stretch and just missed for the win, while Winbak Dimensions (Matt Kakaley) hung on for third.


Handsome Harry is a four-year old son of Dream Away-Princess Jocelyn who is trained by Mark Ford for the partnership of Ralph Del Priore and Harry Doyle of New York and New Jersey. It was the fifth win in seventeen starts this year for Handsome Harry, who increased his lifetime bankroll to more than $448,000 with the victory.
