The stage is set for Saturday evening’s elimination round for the 10th annual Balanced Image Trot at Hanover Raceway. Twenty-eight rookies will spar in four eliminations, with the top two finishers advancing to the $70,600 final.


Mandeville, a son of Majestic Son, leads the charge into the elimination round. The points leader in the OSS Grassroots standings for colts and geldings, has already earned over $31,000 for owners Wayne Langille of Harley and Brett Burleigh of Paris, Ontario.


Another son of Majestic Son, Freddie, will look to bolster his already impressive bankroll in his elimination for owners Fred Brayford of Alliston and Debbie Element of Waterdown, Ontario.


Gee Okeeffe, who currently sits seventh in the OSS Gold standings, will be among the fillies taking on the boys in the co-ed event. The daughter of Holiday Road already has a win and a second-place finish in the OSS Gold Series. She’s the top money earner coming into the eliminations with more than $60,000 on her card for Ohio owners Wilbur Lang and Chris Beaver.


Another top filly is Judy The Beauty, who is second in the Filly Grassroots standings with a pair of wins and a set of second-place finishes for owner Randy Zhok of Dover Centre, Ontario.


Platoon Seelster leads the local contingent for owners Caroline Holiday of Mount Forest and Dennis Hannath of Harriston, Ontario Dave Holliday trains the rookie and Ryan Holiday drives the son of Federal Flex.


Hillbilly King, another local colt, will face the gate for Jayne Walker and Tom Smith of Holland Centre, Ontario. The son of Mutineer will be making just his third lifetime start.
