>Jug eligibles win weekend stakes


Delaware, OH --- Big Bad John, Custard The Dragon and Eighteen, all eligible to the 66th Little Brown Jug on September 22, scored stakes victories this past weekend.


Big Bad John and Custard The Dragon won $52,559 elims of the Pennsylvania Sires Stakes at Harrah’s Chester, and Eighteen won a $20,000 Displomat Pace elimination at Woodbine in Canada.


Both Big Bad John and Custard The Dragon scored in 1:51.1, and both won by 6-1/4 lengths. Brett Miller drove Big Bad John to victory over Jug eligibles Something For Doc and Reckless Ric. Montrell Teague guided Custard The Dragon to victory in 1:51.1, also by 6-1/4 lengths.


Eighteen, trained by Dr. Ian Moore, who won the 2008 Jug with Shadow Play, won over Jug eligible Big Time Rocks in 1:51.1 for his second victory in two starts this season.
