The first wagering Watson (third overall, purse $29,529) was won by Arlington Ave (Kim Crawford, $4.40), lasting on the lead (life-best 1:55.3) as the 6-5 choice The daughter of Riverboat King, 3-for-7 this season, was trained by Maureen Salino for co-owners De Ca Sa Stb, William Salmeri, George Berkner and Arthur Lucarelli.
"We've been racing her from behind in most of her starts. but she drew the inside here and I thought this was a field she could go with," Crawford said. "Besides, if I didn't win, the owners weren't going to give me a ride back home."
The fourth ($29,529) foray (second on the betting card) saw Eve Marie Seelster (Bartlett, $14) prevail up the passing lane a life-best 1:54.4. She was able to get the better of both City Delight (George Brennan) and a Hazes Zure Beat by a head and neck, respectively. the Artiscape filly, trained by Mike Hall, is co-owned by Allen & Ira Kaplan and David Sheib.
JK Owhatanite (Bartlett), last seen here winning the $197,634 Lismore Pace, won the evening's final ($30,129) NYSS group, easily neutralizing both the eight-hole and her seven inside rivals.
The daughter of Bettors Delight threw out a 1:53.4.effort, defeating Lightning Maddy (Brennan) by 3-3/4 wrapped-up lengths. Linda Toscano trained the 3 Brothers Stables homebred, who's now 4-for-5 this season.
"She was as good tonight as she was in the (Lismore)," Bartlett said. "She's very talented and just does her job."
Tuesday night's other NYSS events, worth $30,129, $29,529 and $30,129, were won by Winbak Corazon (1:55.2), Ms Malicious (1:54.1) and Asteria Blue Chip (1:54.2).
New York Sire Stakes action continues Friday night, with the $237,990 Hugh Grant Pace for three-year-old colts and gelding in five consecutive divisions.
