Ocean Downs Hosts Maryland Sire Stakes



Berlin, MD --- Ocean Downs played host to Maryland Sire Stakes on Thursday night.



In the first MSS division for 3-year-old filly pacers Corey Callahan drove O’what A Stunner to victory in 1.58.2. O’what A Stunner is owned by Thomas B Cooke, Rockville, Maryland and trained by Roger Hans. In the second division Callahan scored again with Game Changer in 2.02.4 for owner Dr. William J Solomon and trainer Paul Chambers.



Jim Morand drove Rukeyser to a 2.03.1 win in a Maryland Sire Stake for 3-year-old colts and geldings. Rukeyser, by You Betcha-Hollins Queen, is trained by Les Givens and owned by Nanticoke Racing Inc. Seaford, Delaware.



In the second split for 3-year-old colts and geldings Jeff Fout drove Modern Day Clyde to a 1.56.1 win. Modern Day Clyde, by Bonnie and Clyde-Ashlee Lyn, is trained by Jeff Fout and owned by Joe and Joann Thomson, Phoenixville, Pa.



In the final Maryland Sire Stake of the night, for 3-year-old filly pacers, Jonathan Roberts drove My Baby Momma to a 2.03.1 victory. My Baby Momma, by Tejano–Kora’s Trotter, is trained and owned by Richard L Hans, Westminster, Maryland.



The Maryland Sire Stakes Finals will take place on August 25 with 8 races with a purse of $25,000 for each.
