Two-year-old pacing colt Play It Again Sam continued his undefeated win streak at Truro Raceway on Sunday afternoon, scoring his fifth in a row in a new mark of 1:57.2.

Marc Whebby drove Play It Again Sam to the 2-1/4 length victory over the pacesetting four-year-old Putnams New Year. The time was two-fifths of a second off the freshman track record. R G McGroup Ltd., connections of Play It Again Sam's sire Shadow Play, also share ownership of the colt with trainer Wayne Whebby.

The same connections also sent out another winning two-year-old son of Shadow Play as Im Drinkin Doublesromped to a 22-1/4 length victory in 1:59.3 over freshman foes. The win followed up last week's 11-3/4 length maiden-breaking effort, clocked in 1:58.4.

This week's top class at Truro was won by Atlantic Sires Stakes competitor Beach Paradise in gate-to-wire fashion. Four-time Sunday winning driver Ryan Ellis steered the three-year-old Western Paradise gelding to the 1:57.2 triumph for trainer Henry Smallwood and Windsor, N.S. owners Debbie Francis, Malcom Isnor and Peter Francis. The duo defeated Epanephrine by one and a half lengths while Prom Mister rounded out the top three finishers.
