Hippodrome 3R in Trois-Rivieres will be raising purses about 10 per cent for many of its condition races, effective Sunday.
As an example, races for non-winners of $1,000 in their last three starts will go for $2,600 instead of $2,400, and events for non-winners of $3,000 in their last three starts will carry a purse of $3,400, up from $3,000.
The Quebec Jockey Club said healthy wagering and “rigourous” management made the purse hikes possible.
