colt Bali continued his undefeated season with a track record performance as two-year-olds made their Series Quebecoise debuts on Sunday at Hippodrome 3R.


Bali ($3) advanced first over to win his $7,000 division in a 1:57.1 track record clocking for trainer/driver Marie Claude Auger and owners Denise Auger of Trois-Rivieres, Que. and Emilie Auger of Cambridge, Que. The homebred son of Dali is off to a perfect start in his career with four wins to his credit.

 

Atomic Million Am ($24) won the earlier colt division in a matching time of 1:57.1 for trainer/owner Alain Martin of Gatineau, Que. The win was the homebred Million Dollar Cam gelding's second (consecutive) in three career starts. Sylvain Lacaille drove Atomic Million Am as well as filly winner Thrill Chaser ($2.30), who broke her maiden after three runner-up efforts in 2:02.3. The homebred Rambaran filly is owned by trainer Karen Kroeger and Gilles Plourde of Gatineau, Que.

 

The fastest filly was Champagne Shower ($2.50) with her 2:00.2 wire-to-wire effort in rein to Denis St. Pierre for trainer Bertrand Ayotte and owner/breeder Sotirios Anastasopoulos of Sainte-Therese, Que. The daughter of Santanna Blue Chip is now two-for-four in her young career.

 

Fresh off an Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots victory on July 15 at Mohawk Racetrack, Maximuscle won the lone $7,700 trot division in 2:04.1. Mario Charron drove the Angus Hall colt, who is trained by Eric Valiquette for owner/breeder Ecurie Provoquante of Mirabel, Que. It was just his third career start.
