Columbus, OH -- Regis The Horse -- named for television personality Regis Philbin -- overcame a break at the starting gate to win his third race in his last four starts in 1:57.2 Tuesday night (Sept. 17) at Harrington Raceway.

With Philbin watching live from the set of "Crowd Goes Wild," his new sports show on Fox Sports 1, Regis The Horse left from post 1, but took back to seventh until driver Montrell Teague could get the 2-year-old son of Shadow Play-Shades Of Art back on stride.

Art Of Escape led the field through the quarter in 28 and half in 58.4. Regis The Horse ranged up second-over past the half behind Notoriouscardshark as announcer Jack Gallagher said, "From a sports mental health point of view, Regis needs this win."

Teague tipped Regis The Horse three-wide at the three-quarters in 1:28.2, who came home in 28.3 to win by three-quarters of a length. Art Of Escape was second with False Advertising third.

Regis The Horse, trained and owned by George Teague Jr., has now won three of four starts since being presented to Philbin on his show on Aug. 19. To read theHoof Beats story about how Regis and Regis came together, click here.
