DOVER, Del. ---- I’m Won Rum Wiser and Reflected Art, 1st leg winners, lead two of three $20,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) preliminaries for three-year-old filly pacers on Monday, March 31. Jeremes Sweetheart seeks a repeat in the $24,000 Mares Open pace, at Dover Downs. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
 

Two of last week’s winners match strides in the opening $20,000 DSBF 2nd leg prelim. I’m Won Rum Wiser, owned by The Wiz Kids Stable and Tina and driver George Dennis takes on Garnet O’Marrow’s homebred Seboomook Fool Yah while Winbak Farm’s Fashion Guru with Ben Stafford Jr., second last week, leaves from post 1. Another contender is Virginia Louthan’s homebred Meggispin and Ron Pierce, who also was second last Monday.
 

In the second $20,000 prelim, LeBlanc Racing and Winbak Farm’s Reflected Art (Ross Wolfenden) came on strong at 24-1 for an opening week victory. Also racing well was The Wiz Kids Stable’s Jonigold (Bart Dalious) who was passed leading on the backstretch but came on to finish third. Jeff Bartels’ Crushed Again (Vic Kirby) also was a third-place finisher.
   

The third DSBF prelim is a wide-open event led by Henry Faragalli III, T.P. Johnson and Joe Thomson’s Treasure Valley (Corey Callahan) from the rail. Ed Walls’ Mommom’s Little C (Jonathan Roberts) from outside post 7.Winbak Farms’ Angel Face (Tony Morgan) and Marjorie Richards and Judith Leonard’s Thersa (G. Dennis) are other contenders.

A select field of five race for a $24,000 purse in the Mares Open Handicap pace.  Ken Wood, Bill Dittmar and Steve Iaquinta’s Jeremes Sweetheart (Pierce) closed along the passing lane to win last week’s distaff feature. Spend It All (Jim Morand) cut out the fast pace for owners Steve Head and Brooke Givens, and had to settle for second place. Owner-trainer Bob Winkelman’s Paradise Lost (Wolfenden) has accounted for a win, two seconds and four thirds in her last nine starts. Alexachase, owned by Kimberley and trainer Johnny Waite, is a strong closer. Drawing the rail is DR Van Wizenburg and George Golemes’ Ideal Ginny A. Davis) stepping up after a win last time. 

 

Monday through Thursday racing begins at 4:30 p.m. No racing on Friday and Saturday. Sunday post time is 5:30 p.m.
