Dover, DE --- Lounge Act was a 1:55 winner in a $14,000 Mares Winners Over pace over a sloppy track on Monday (Jan. 12) at Dover Down. Corey Callahan continued his multiple-win barrage with five wins while Ron Pierce had four.


After a threesome of seven post positions, Lounge Act drew the rail and responded with a 1:55 victory, his fourth in his seven starts this meet for trainer-driver Vic Kirby and owner Keith Pippi. The Cam’s Card Shark-Hay Macarena 4-year-old was chased down the lane by Waitingforapplause (Ross Wolfenden) and Flick A Fly (Ron Perce), second and third, respectively.


A 9-1 shot, Tim Mumford’s Romanascape scored a 1:57 victory in another $14,000 mares division. Jim Morand drove the Shane Long conditioned daughter of Artiscape-Romanticize to her second consecutive triumph and third win in her last five outings. Sophia Seelster (Callahan) was second best. Rachelle’s Beat (Pierce) was the show finisher.


Harry von Knoblauch’s Scootin For Joy made it two in a row, romping to a 1:53.4 score in a $13,000 Mares Winners Over. Pierce was at the controls as the Western Paradise-Scooting Annie 5-year-old cut out the mile, closing with a :27.2 panel. Jeremes Sweetheart (Kirby) and Paradise Lost (Jonathan Roberts) raced second and third the entire route.


In another $13,000 female pace, Lindysbathinbeauty with Callahan driving the Somebeachsomewhere-Sunshine Sister 4-year-old, notched a 1:54.3 decision for J&M Racing and CTC Stable. Velocity Sonja (Allan Davis) was runner-up. Seawind Ginger (Wolfenden) took third.


Callahan’s five and four by Pierce were followed by two wins for trainer Johnny Waite and two for owner Chris White.
