>Stablemates Play It Again Sam and Im Drinkin Doubles, both eligible to the 2014 Pepsi North America Cup, won back-to-back races over Truro Raceway's half-mile oval on Sunday afternoon for trainer/driver Warren Grant.


Making his season's debut in the top $1,275 Winners Over class, Nassagaweya Stakes champion Play It Again Sam ($3.80) was victorious from off-the-pace in 1:58.1.


Schooner (Ernest Laffin) carved out the fractions of :29, :59.1 and 1:27.4 before Play It Again Sam closed from third in :29.3 to kick off his sophomore season in style. Bonnys Mac (Travis MacLean) finished half a length behind in second off a pocket trip while Likely To Win (Danny Romo) came on for third over the pacesetter, finishing less that a length behind.


The Shadow Play-Plant A Kiss colt was a $25,000 yearling purchased at the Harrisburg Sale. He earned close to $100,000 with eight wins in 11 starts during his freshman campaign and took his 1:52 mark in the Nassagaweya at Mohawk Racetrack.


On race prior, Im Drinkin Doubles ($3.10) earned his second straight win of the season in wire-to-wire fashion.


The Shadow Play-Kiss Of Life gelding led through panels of :28.3, :58.3 and 1:28.2 before cruising home for the three and a half length victory in 1:58.3. Winner Panic (Tammy Lynn MacKay) followed in second while first over SF Razamatazz (Mark Whidden) finished third.


Im Drinkin Doubles, a $32,000 Harrisburg purchase, scored three wins in 10 starts last year while earning just $4,754 and taking a mark of 1:57.4 at Grand River Raceway.


Both colts are owned by Wayne Eric Whebby of Dartmouth, N.S. and R G McGroup Ltd. of Bathurst, N.B.


Play It Again Sam has been assessed at odd of 55-1 in Trot Magazine's 2014 Spring Book while Im Drinkin Doubles is handicapped at odds of 100-1.
