Harrington, DE --- The Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund stakes for 3-year-olds will complete their second leg of eliminations this week at Harrington Raceway.

The pacing colts and geldings will be the first in action on Monday night’s (July 6) program as two divisions, slated fourth and tenth on the 13-race program, will go to post.

In the first division, two elimination winners square off as Remember Me VK (7-5, Montrell Teague) will attempt to overcome post seven and Quick Art (9-5, Tony Morgan) will start from post six. Remember Me VK is unbeaten in 2015 in five starts for trainer Bob Wyatt and owners Sharon Wyatt, Robin West and Ron Benton. Quick Art won his elimination last week in 1:53.2 for owners Mo Coo Inc. and Jonathan Klee Racing.

Michael White’s Son Of A Sizzle (7-5, Victor Kirby) will head the second split and will start from the coveted rail after a runner-up finish to Remember Me VK on June 29.

A total of 16 colts and geldings comprise the two divisions.

The filly pacers will battle on Tuesday as 21 horses will fulfill the three divisions. The first division is absent an elimination winner from last week, but Jerry Silva, C&G Racing Stable and Deo Volente Farms’ Gigi Deo (3-2, Ross Wolfenden), trained by Aaron Lambert, is the morning line choice after a third place finish in her elimination behind overwhelming favorite Totally Rusty (7-5, Corey Callahan), who will spearhead the third division for owners Let It Ride Stables, Dana Parham and Carter Racing Stables and trainer Ross Croghan.

Joann Looney-King’s Purrfect Bags (7-5, Kirby) heads the second division field in pursuit of her 12th win in 15 career starts for trainer Jim King Jr. after an elimination win in 1:53 on June 30. Runner-up Love Forbidden (2-1, Daryl Bier), owned by JL Sadowsky LLC, and fellow elimination winner Henry Faragalli III’s Fancy Sound (3-1, Jim Morand) appear to be Purrfect Bags’ main contenders.

Trotters take center stage on Wednesday with two divisions for colts and geldings and two for fillies slated.

The first will be an abbreviated four-horse field in a non-wagering event led by Nanticoke Racing and Delbert Cain’s Go Byem, who won his first elimination impressively in 1:56 under the guidance of trainer/driver Les Givens. Fellow elimination winner Perfect Vangogh (Tony Morgan) and Dover Downs $100,000 final winner Political Foe (Eddie Dennis) are among the field.

The second division for the boys will be the 10th race on the wagering card, as 2-year-old DSBF champ Egosnattitudes (Jon Roberts) will attempt to atone for a miscue in his elimination last week. His rivals feature no elimination winners from last week, but does include runner-up finisher Luck Dynasty (Kirby) among the five horse field.

The numbers were more plentiful on the filly side as 16 fillies entered the second leg with two round one winners set to square off in the evening’s fourth race, Charles Wimbrow and Jim Lunn Jr.’s Silence Is Bliss (Allan Davis) and Bib Roberts, Graham Grace Stables and M&W Stables’ Callmemza (Jon Roberts). Leigh Raymer’s I Got Spunk (Kirby) was a beaten favorite and finished second in her elimination for her owner/trainer and is also among the chief contenders.

The second filly division is headed by Marvin Meyer’s Cuddle Punk (Allan Davis), who won her elimination impressively in 1:58.3.

Harrington’s final week before the summer break is Monday through Thursday this week. Post time is 5:30 p.m. The $100,000 DSBF finals are part of a prestigious program on July 30 during the Delaware State Fair with a special 7 p.m. post time.
