Winbak Farm will host on October 16th and 17th the inaugural class of the World Trade Center Institute’s Emerging and Developing Global Executives (EDGE) program.

The program was possible thanks to a multi-year grant support by the Bowe-Stewart Foundation. The goal of the program is to enhance the participants’ global business acumen and to increase the region’s international competitiveness.

The program will kick off in September and will feature an off-site retreat at Winbak Farm, multi-cultural trainings, meetings with c-levels executives, and seven half-day sessions on topics of leadership and global business importance.

Joe Thomson, Owner of Winbak Farm, is a long-time member of WTCI’s Board of Directors and has offered the industry’s largest single family breeding farm to host the EDGE class.

The emerging executives will represent about 20 companies such as Rockwell Collins (former ARINC), BD Diagnostics, McCormick, Jhpiego, Grace, Ellicott Dredges, Planit Agency, T. Rowe Price, BITHGROUP Technologies, TESSCO and others.

During their time at Winbak Farm, the EDGE participants will engage in a team building cooking lesson and wine pairing with Chefs Jerry Pellegrino and Amy von Lange of Schola Cooking School.

They will also be participating in a couple educational sessions, one with Pamela Wagoner, President of Upstream Insights, LLC on Managing and Motivating People, and the second with Anirban Basu, Chairman and CEO of Sage Policy Group, Inc. on the performance of the global, national and regional economies.

Winbak Farm will provide a tour of the 2,000 + acres of farm facilities which will detail the farm’s success in raising top quality harness horses and the international operations and partnerships that the farm engages in.
