More two-year-olds were in action Tuesday evening at Mohawk Racetrack, and a bargain buy from the barn of trainer Scott McEneny turned in an impressive victory at first asking.

Stuck In My Spanks, a daughter of Manofmanymissions-Puta Ring On It, turned a two-hole trip into a 1:58.3 score for driver Paul MacDonell. The filly tracked race favourite Soho Hanover through panels of :30.1, 1:01.1 and 1:30.2 before angling out of the pocket and firing home in :28 to win by 2-1/4 lengths. Soho Hanover held on for second, with third prize going to A Doozy.

Purchased for $3,500 from last year’s Harrisburg Yearling Sale, Stuck In My Spanks is owned by Michelle McEneny of Waterdown and Teresa Davidson of Milton, Ont.

MacDonell found his way back to victory lane later on the card with a first-timer from his own barn. The pacing filly Somemoneysomewhere was a popular winner in her debut in a sharp clocking of 1:56.1.

The daughter of Somebeachsomewhere-A Ps Money Maker got away fifth and remained there through first-half fractions of :28.4 and :58.4. Emotions and St Lads Hotcakes took turns on the lead in the opening half, but Somemoneysomewhere came first over and gained a short lead while racing parked past the three-quarter pole in 1:28. She used a :28.1 closing panel to win by a nose over St Lads Hotcakes. Sports Leader was third.

Sent off as the 4-5 favourite, Somemoneysomewhere clicked for owner/breeder Joe Tinelli of Sturgeon County, AB and Paul Macdonell Racing Stb of Guelph, Ont.
