Brian Malone and Carrie Stackowitz's Mcarma improved to 4-for-5 at the current meet with a 1:53.2 win in the $17,500 Mares Open Tuesday at Harrington Raceway.

After 3-5 favourite Purrfect Bags made a brief bobble behind the starting gate and went off stride, Mcarma quickly went to the front from post position five for Tony Morgan and never relented, despite a stubborn late charge from the favourite that came up short. Purrfect Bags was second with Dublin Rose third. Trained by Brian Malone, it was the 20th career win for Mcarma.

Earlier in the card, a pair of horses picked up their third wins of the meet already as Leigh Raymer's Miss Read ($2.60, Victor Kirby) prevailed in 1:55.4. It was the fifth win of the year for the Shadow Play filly who is trained by her owner. It was one of four wins on the card for Kirby.

J&M Racing's Embassy Seelster ($3.60, Allan Davis) won her third straight race with a wire-to-wire charge in 1:52.3 for trainer Doug Lewis. Embassy Seelster is the current aged pacing mare track record holder, courtesy of a 1:51.3 win in May 2015.
