Harrington, DE --- Frank Chick's Strong Hope ($10.20, Montrell Teague) was a 1:55 aptly named winner Wednesday (Sept 14) at Harrington Raceway in the $15,000 featured race that was named for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

In attendance was 5-year-old Layla Mosley, who has been courageously battling stage four Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. Mosley distributed ribbons throughout the evening, which were aimed at increasing awareness for childhood cancer.

Strong Hope, a 9-year-old CR Excalibur stallion, assumed the lead at the top of the stretch and drew clear for his 36th career win. The Kevin Lare-trainee has earned more than $566,000 lifetime. Royal Becca J was second, while I Like My Boss was third.

Delaware-sired 2-year-olds have been making their final preparations for next week's Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) races. George Teague Jr.'s Daylen ($4.40, Montrell Teague, 1:55) and Richard Banca's Dreams To Go ($9.20, Jon Roberts, 1:57) each were victorious on the pacing side. Ben Brooks' Master Clave ($16.60, Ross Wolfenden, 2:03) was the lone 2-year-old trotting winner. Teague had four wins on the program for the second time in the last week.
