The son of Somebeachsomewhere, owned by Burkie By The Bay Stables, Ten Mile House and Perry Burke, made it look easy on the windy night in the $2,200 Preferred 2 as Campbell moved the pacer en route to the half (:56 seconds) after the opening quarter was posted in :27.2 by co-favourite and stablemate All Turain (Corey MacPherson). Big Surf flew past the three-quarter station in 1:25.1 before sprinting home in :28.1 to notch his first victory of the 2015 campaign over All Turain. Both horses are trained by Trevor Hicken, who enjoyed the one-two finish. American Terror was third.

Frill Seeker, with Kenny Arsenault driving for Ebbsfleet Stables, took the $1,500 Open Trot in 2:01 over Pleasure Girls and Presto Pegasus. Arsenault also won with Leading Camdidate for owner Jeff Holmes.

Driver Mark McKinnon enjoyed a driving double with scores aboard Unstoppable Speed for the ownership group of David and Mitch Tierney along with Sterling and Kelsie Buchanan, and Come Back for Tim McKinnon.
