Two of the Autumn Series went postward Monday evening at The Raceway at Western Fair District, and familiar faces found their way to victory lane once again.

Kimco Kid, who was a 2:05.1 winner in week one of the event, was a gate-to-wire winner in his $8,500 division for the tandem of driver Alfie Carroll and trainer Richard Moreau.

Carroll hustled the three-year-old son of Kadabra-Kimco Lady through panels of :30.1, 1:02.1 and 1:33.3 before cruising home in :30.4 to win by 1-1/2 lengths over Brydown Houston in 2:04.2. Third prize went to Never Tell.

Sent off as the 2-5 favourite, Kimco Kid improved his 2018 record to 3-3-0 from 10 trips to the track. The winner of $16,925 is owned by Harbor Racing Stable LLC and ASA Farm.

Eddy posted a 2:03.1 victory in leg one of the series, and he sharpened his speed in winning his second leg assignment in 1:59.1 for driver Scott Coulter and trainer Chad Milner.

Coulter was able to grab a pocket trip behind TLF Beware, who carved out fractions of :28.2, :59 and 1:28.4. Eddy was on the move from first-over as the field travelled in the backstretch, and he used a :30.1 closing quarter to draw clear by 1-3/4 lengths over Iam What I Am. King For Life took home third prize in the $8,500 affair.

Sent off as the 1-2 favourite, the three-year-old son of Windsong Espoir-Jolie Glide now boasts a 4-1-1 record from nine starts this season. He’s stashed away close to $18,000 this season for owners Leonard Christopher and Zina Pallister.

Later on the card Brocks Fortune produced a gate-to-wire triumph in the $8,500 Preferred 3 for horse and gelding pacers.

Brett MacDonald hustled the gelding to the top from Post 2, and together they led the field through fractions of :27.1, :57.3 and 1:25.4. A :29.3 closing panel sealed the deal for the Taylor Fritz trainee, who stopped the clock in 1:55.2 while defeating Artistic Pick and Tuition Money.

Fritz shares ownership on the eight-year-old son of Stonebridge Regal-Fannies Fortune with Jared Bako of Dorchester, Ont. The veteran owns a 4-6-4 record from 21 starts this season, and he’s a 23-time winner to date. He’s banked over $33,000 this year and more than $350,000 in his career.
