>Winbak Farm has announced that the newest member of its stallion roster at Winbak of Canada, My MVP, is going to a “bogo” stud fee for the upcoming breeding season.

The “buy one get one free” offer means that one mare can be bred to My MVP this year at his stud fee of $4,000 Cdn., with a second mare bred at no charge. Or, breeders may contract to breed one mare this year, and the same or another mare next year.

According to Winbak of Canada manager Pat Woods, the offer is being made to ensure that the stallion gets the numbers he deserves in his first Ontario crop to showcase his siring ability.

“He’s already proven--with just his small first crop--that he can get you sire stakes winners and trotters that can compete in the major open stakes,” Woods said. “We think he’s a great fit for the program here and we think it won’t take him long to prove he’s one of the best,” he added.

My MVP’s first crop of 29 starters, eligible in Ohio, included 2018 Goodtimes winner Wolfgang 3,1:51.2 ($578,560) along with four other $100,000-plus winners and multiple Ohio Sire Stakes winners.

That crop ranked the son of Cantab Hall as one of North America’s leading percentage sires in the categories of 1:55 trotters and average earnings per foal.
