g>Dover, DE — Thursday (March 28) was a beautiful clear spring night and the boys came to Dover Downs for Leg 2 of the DSBF series. Eleven pacers comprised the first and second half of the Daily Double, finalizing the top eight point earners for next week’s $100,000 final on closing night, April 4.

In race one, 17-1 Haymitch (Roddy’s Bags Again-Blue Moon Artist) broke his maiden in 1:53.2 for owner/trainer/driver Art Stafford Jr. and partner Wyatt Starkey. The favorite, Mr Big Wig (Mr Wiggles-Miss Muffet) finished a neck back in second and Keepmywiglegametyt (Mr Wiggles-Airtight) got up for the show.

 

Part two of the double was the showdown between last week’s winners and the win went to Chillaxin Away (Roddy’s Bags Again-Shake Away) in a new lifetime record of 1:51.2 for the meet’s leading driver, Tim Tetrick, and trainer Jim King, Jr. and his wife, owner,Jo Ann Looney-King. Goldberg (Mr Wiggles-Chausettes Blanche) was second over Numbered Account (Roddy’s Bags Again-Mathamomics).
