effernan watched Hes Marvalous live up to his name by turning in a wire-to-wire triumph in the Thursday evening feature at the Charlottetown Driving Park.


Hes Marvalous, in rein to Myles Heffernan, blasted to the lead from Post 4 and laid down fractions of :28.1, :57.4 and 1:27.1 before using a :29.4 closing panel to win by 1-1/4 lengths over race favourite Likely To Win in 1:57. Harbourlite Jerry took home the show dough.


Myles Heffernan, Jr. trains the six-year-old son of Delmarvalous-Selinass Joy for owner Jackie Heffernan of Glace Boy, NS. It was the first win of the season – and the 14th to date – for the gelding who pushed his lifetime earnings over $200,000 with the win.


Star Photo continued his undefeated reign on red soil in winning the $2,400 Open trot for driver Jason Hughes, trainer Kevin Gillis and owners Robi Hughes, Eric MacLauchlan and James Perrot of Stratford and Blair MacLauchlan of Charlottetown. Time of the mile was 1:59.1.
