g>Nichols, NY — Tioga Downs will feature two divisions of the New York Sire Stakes for freshman trotting colts and geldings on Sunday (June 30). Both divisions will race for a purse of $55,000.

 

In the first division the top morning line choice at 3-1 is Saylor (Jim Marohn Jr.). Owned and trained by D.R. Ackerman, he is a colt by Chapter Seven–Creme De Cocoa. The second choice at 7-2 is Hobbs (Tyler Buter), who is a gelding by Credit Winner-Cruella De Ville. He is owned by Runthetable Stables and trained by Jim Campbell. The third choice at 4-1 is Barn Holden (Jim Meittinis). He is a colt by Conway Hall-Barn Babe, who is owned by Purple Haze Stables, Out In The Country Stable, Nancy Pratt and trainer Steven Pratt.


In the second division the 9-5 morning line favorite is Chaptiama (Trond Smedshammer). He is a colt by Chapter Seven–Crediama, owned by Purple Haze Stables and trained by Smedshammer. The second morning line choice at 4-1 is Third Shift (Ake Svanstedt). The colt by Chapter Seven-Overnight Command is owned by Melby Gard Inc. and trained by Svanstedt. The third choice at 6-1 is Take The Credit (Andy Miller). Owned by Brixton Medical Inc. and trained by Svanstedt, he is a colt by Credit Winner–Love Tactics.
