Odds-on favourite National Debt lunged first-over at pacesetter Chaleurs Ad to upend his win streak with a 1:53 victory in the $8,600 Preferred Pace.


Chaleurs Ad led the field through fractions of :27, :56 and 1:24 under minimal pressure. Driver Pascal Berube pulled National Debt first over heading to the half and loomed closer to the pacesetter heading to the final turn, eventually drawing alongside moving into the stretch. The Yves Tessier trainee then pulled past to a two-length victory. Silverado, off a pocket trip, took third.


An eight-year-old Allamerican Native stallion, National Debt won his 11th race from 24 starts this season and his 50th from 159 overall, earning $516,339. He paid $3.00 to win.

 

Revenue Agent rolled to a wire-to-wire score in the $8,600 Preferred Trot.

 

Driver Pascal Berube brushed the 11-year-old Revenue S gelding to the lead heading to a :28 first quarter with Hldontghttoyurdrms sitting the pocket. Revenue Agent continued to lead through a :57.4 half and endured first-over pressure from 7-5 favourite Volare through three-quarters in 1:26.3. Volare faltered turning for the finish while Revenue Agent strolled to a two-and-three-quarter length victory in 1:56.4 with Batting Stats closing from third over for second. Y S Suzanne snagged third.

 

Owned by Michael Sergi and trainer Sam Sergi, Revenue Agent won his eighth race from 26 starts and his 37th from 153 overall, earning $422,515. He paid $10.80 to win.
