Empire-bred fillies to be out in force at the Mighty M

Monticello, NY --- On Tuesday, July 12, Monticello Raceway will feature 3-year-old pacing fillies, who will compete for almost $75,000 in New York Sire Stakes late-closer action.

Six divisions will be on tap that afternoon and they will be contested in races two, four, five, six, nine and 11. Each division will be worth $12,300.

Of the 47 fillies slated to start some have already shown ability. Take, for instance, Sinspirational, a daughter of Artiscape who currently owns a record of 1:53.4 taken at Tioga Downs on May 27. On June 13 she finished second in a New York Sire Stakes at Monticello Raceway and was individually timed in 1:58. She’ll leave from the five hole in race number four with Jimmy Marohn, Jr. at the lines.

Marohn will also handle Bettor B Genuine, who owns a 1:55.3 record taken at Tioga Downs on June 24. This Bettor’s Delight filly will leave from post three in race five.

In race two, the local filly Sittinthemorninsun will come into her contest off a 1:58.3 triumph here on June 7. Bruce Aldrich, Jr. will be in the bike when the daughter of American Ideal leaves from post position five.

In race six Cory Braden will be in the sulky behind Boat House Row, a Riverboat King filly who is a winner of three of her last six races -- the fastest a 1:55.2 clocking over a muddy racetrack at Tioga Downs on June 17. She will start from post position five.

Lucky Turn has already proved she can handle a half-mile track after a 1:57.4 victory in a New York Sire Stakes at Historic Track on July 1. Prior to that, on Tioga Downs’ five-eighths mile oval, the Bettor’s Delight filly was victorious in 1:55. She’ll start from post three in race nine and will be driven by Brandon Simpson

And in the final split Simpson will be in the bike behind Kiddie Cocktail when the daughter of Bettor’s Delight leaves from the two hole in race number 11. She was victorious in 1:54.2 at the Meadowlands on May 20, which is her current-best clocking.

The 14-race card that afternoon will get underway at 12:50 p.m., eastern.
