18 entered in Adios; 3 elims set for Saturday

Custard The Dragon will be taking a shot at the special $250,000 bonus to be paid if a horse can win the Hempt Memorial, Adios and Battle of the Brandywine when he steps on the track in one of three Adios eliminations Saturday night at The Meadows.

Custard The Dragon won the Hempt in May and will start from post two in the second of three Adios elims. George Teague Jr. trains Custard The Dragon, who finished ninth in the Meadowlands Pace after making a bold move up the backstretch to take the lead. The third elim also includes Meadowlands Pace finalists Powerful Mist and Westwardho Hanover.

With three eliminations, the first three finishers will advance to the July 31 final. If only two eliminations had been held for the 18 horses entered, only the top four would have advanced to the final per the conditions of the race.
