Gloria Kinnamon's I Wanna Go Fast took an adventurous route to the winner's circle on Tuesday night in the $12,000 Open Pace at Rosecroft Raceway.
Driver Donnie Russell left from post four and dropped in third behind pacesetter Just Bettor and pocket sitting Shady Breeze.
By the time the field reached the third quarter he was dead last in the seven-horse field.
Russell found his exit and looped I Wanna Go Fast four-wide on the final turn and sprinted home in :27.3 to win in 1:51.1.
Brian Fisher conditions the winner in the Brian Callahan Stable.
Jonathan Roberts took the $12,000 Mares Open with Meg Breeze in 1:52.2.
Bib Roberts owns and conditions the 5-year old daughter of Rosecroft track record holder Nuclear Breeze and had a training double on the card.
Roberts broke a tie with Joe Offut for the training title with one night remaining.
