The Spring Survivor Series continued at Meadowlands Racetrack on Saturday night with two more $12,500 divisions and another Miller finding the winner's circle.
Andy and Julie Miller swept Friday night's trotting divisions while David Miller kicked off Saturday's card with a win in the pacing series aboard the Ron Burke-trained Breakin The Law ($5.20). The popular son of Artiscape sprinted home off cover in :26.2 to win by one and a half lengths in 1:51.2 over Arts Ideal Hanover and E Street Plan. The gelding has finished no worse than fourth in his 12-race career while going five-for-seven this year. He is owned by Burke Racing Stable LLC, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, JJK Stables LLC, and The Panhellenic Stb Corp. The win was one of three on the card for Burke.
Favourite Rockndream ($6.40) converted from a pocket trip and edged out pacesetter Astor and Winter Night in the other division in 1:53 with Ron Pierce in the bike for trainer Jimmy Takter. The Rocknroll Hanover gelding, who earned his first win in nine career starts, is owned by Christina Takter, Mkatz Alibfeld Sgoldband, and Brixton Medical Ab.
The series is for three-year-old pacers that are non-winners of two extended pari-mutuel races or $30,000 lifetime as of March 1, 2012.
