e="font-size: small;">Nichols, NY --- Four divisions of New York Sire Stakes for 2-year-old pacing fillies highlighted a twelve race card on Saturday night at Tioga Downs.


Posting the fastest mile of the night was Silk Pajamas with Jimmy Marohn Jr. for trainer Ron Burke. The 2-year-old daughter of Bettor’s Delight–Silksanddiamonds left the gate from post five and settled in second as Jetta Blue Chip (Howard Parker) cut through an opening quarter of 27.3. The pair then raced in order through fractions of 57.2 and 1:26.3 before pulling out of the two-hole around the final turn to challenge in the lane. In the stretch Marohn and Silk Pajamas easily drew clear of the field to capture victory in 1:54.4.

 

Other division winners included: Joy’s Choice (American Ideal-Sweethearts Dance) – Jeff Gregory (1:55.1), Give Me An Amen (Art Major-Tina Blue Chip) – Jeff Gregory (1:55.2), and Summertime Lea (Lislea-Donna Summer) – Jim Marohn Jr. (1:55.1).

 

Sean Bier vaulted to a career milestone on Saturday night at Tioga Downs when he captured his 2000th career win in the twelfth and final race with Smashing Revue. Tioga Downs would like to congratulate Sean on his career milestone and wish him the best of luck with the rest of the racing season.
