Delmarvalous to stand at Winbak Farm’s Delaware facility in 2017

Friday, October 21, 2016  By: Elizabeth Cheesman

In 2017, Winbak Farm will be welcoming Delmarvalous, p, 2, 1:52.3f; 3, 1:48.2 ($899,123), to the Delaware lineup of Winbak Farm.

The son of Badlands Hanover-Prymetime Scootie had a lucrative career that included wins at age 2 in the Arden Downs Stakes and two Delaware Breeders finals. He also finished second to eventual divisional and world champion, Sportswriter, in both his Metro Pace and Nassagaweya eliminations. He was voted Delaware’s 2-year-old pacing colt champion.

At 3, his wins included the Adios final, Matron elimination and the Oliver Wendell Holmes, in which he established his mark of 1:48.2. He also finished second in the Matron final to Horse Of the Year Rock N Roll Heaven and in the Progress Pace final.

Delmarvalous remains the fastest horse sired by Badlands Hanover.

From just two limited crops of racing age in Pa., Delmarvalous has sired 2016 PA Stallion Series Winner, Hes Marvalous, p, 2, 1:52f ($129,162), 2016 PA Fair final winner, Gemalous, p, 2, 1:59.2f ($32,298) and 2016 PA Stallion Series winner, She’s So Marvelous, p, 2, 1:55.2f ($28,450).

“Winbak Farm is excited to have Delmarvalous standing in our Delaware lineup,” said Garrett Bell, Winbak Farm’s general manager.

His 2017 stud fee will be $3,000.

In 2017, Winbak Farm of Delaware’s Badlands Nitro, p, 2, 1:51.1f; 3, 1:50f ($1,597,638) will be taking a year off from breeding. He will be enjoying a year of relaxation at George Teague’s farm in Delaware.
