Prince Archie earned the royal honours at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Thursday (Dec. 28) evening as the Laura Toscani-conditioned gelding rallied from last to first in the featured $18,000 condition trot.

Steven Hudon and Prince Archie got away eighth off the car and they were locked on the outside through the opening panel in :27.4. As longshot C S Goldpolicy (Todd Ratchford) continued to set the tempo through the half in :57.4, Prince Archie found a spot on the rail in seventh. He was briefly set back to eighth through the three-quarters in 1:27.4 before kicking into a whole new gear going into the final turn. Clicking off opponents one-by-one, Prince Archie found his way to the top to challenge the pacesetting C S Goldpolicy and pocket-sitting Eternally Hanover (James MacDonald). Coming down to the wire, Prince Archie stepped ahead to win by a neck in 1:57.4. Eternally Hanover took second while C S Goldpolicy rounded out the top three.

The sophomore son of Archangel and the Muscles Yankee mare Belle Of The Ball is owned by Gino Toscani. Unraced as a freshman, Prince Archiehas a career record of 5-3-3 in 20 starts made this season with $44,094 in the bank. He paid $8.20 for the win.
