Jamieson elected to use off the pace tactics from the start as Its No Secret (Anthony MacDonald) brushed to the lead from post 10 before the opening station, reached in :26.3.
Kims Royal Day (Billy Davis, Jr.) was in the pocket but then surged past the tempo-setter well before the midway point in :56.4.
Love Canal, who was positioned fifth, angled to the outside and began a first-over attack around the final turn as Kims Royal Day passed three-quarters in 1:26.1.
Turning for home, Jamieson asked his charge for more pace and the daughter of Badlands Hanover responded as she took over the lead in deep stretch to win by a comfortable 2-1/4 lengths. Both Kims Royal Day and Adventure Pan (Randy Waples) finished in a dead heat for second. Its No Secret finished fourth.
“I really believe in this filly,” Jamieson said. “I think she is going to be a top filly. She shows it periodically. Tonight she won just as handy as possible.”
Love Canal increased her freshman earnings to $273,735 for owners Let it Ride Stables, Robert Cooper Stables and J&T Silva Stables. She paid $2.80 to win.
