Time To Roll, the New Jersey Sire Stakes Champion and North America Cup runner-up, and Hurrikane Kingcole, the Meadowlands Pace Consolation winner, are among the 14 harness racing three-year-old colts and geldings vying in a pair of eliminations for a spot in the $275,000 Anthony Abbatiello New Jersey Classic.
The two seven-horse $25,000 eliminations are carded as the second and tenth races on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Meadowlands. The top five finishers from each elimination race will advance to the final on August 4.
Eleven three-year-old fillies were entered in the $20,000 elimination race for the Thomas D’Altrui Miss New Jersey, with the first 10 in the order of finish qualifying for a spot in the $125,000 final, also on August 4. The elimination is carded as the seventh race on Saturday.
Both showcase events for New Jersey-sired three-year-old pacers are sponsored by the Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey.
Stallions represented in the Classic are Rocknroll Hanover with five, Tell All with four, Western Ideal with three andCam’s Card Shark with two. In the Miss New Jersey, six are daughters of Western Ideal, three by Rocknroll Hanover and two by Cam’s Card Shark.
Hurrikane Kingcole, who qualified for the Adios Final, will skip that event in favor of the New Jersey Classic.
