Monochromatic turned in a gutty effort, holding off fast-finishing Alexachase in 1:52 in the feature race. Corey Callahanpicked up his third of four wins, driving theDream Away-Miss Ty 8-year-old, owned by North State Street Stable of Dover, Del.
Alexachase, handled by Bret Brittingham, closed from last heading to the three-quarters and was able to escape from behind a wall of mares in mid-stretch to within a neck of the winner at the wire. Southwind Jazmin and Tim Tetrick was the third finisher.
Monochromatic, trained by Dylan Davis, has won three of her six starts this year, earning $41,600 and $593,670 lifetime.
In the $16,000 Mares Winners Over sub-feature, Tim Tetrick took the passing lane with McSauna to catch 26-1 shot Lorrie Please in the closing strides for a 1:51.2 lifetime mark. It was the second win in a row for the McArdle-Steamy Place 4-year-old owned by Tom Tetrick. Lorrie Please (Eric Carlson) finished second in front of Ryder Blue Chip (Daryl Bier).
