Zeron was uncatchable in the first three races thanks to victories with Strong Hope (1:56.1 - $28.60) (Winbak Graduate by CR Excalibur), First Impression (1:52.1 - $9.20) and Suprizemeagain (1:54.2 - $6.10). He came flying home to take Race 9 with Master Builder (1:56.1 - $17.00) before capturing the finale with Poppys Bucky Boy (1:52.3 - $9.40).

 

The Oakville, ON resident, who hauled in a career-best $8.7 million in purse earnings last season, leads all WEG teamsters with 45 wins and counting with nearly two months in the books.

 

The career winner in excess of $25 million in purse earnings, who was an O’Brien Award finalist as Canada’s Driver of the Year in 2012, finished the evening needing just 29 more wins to join the 2,000-win club.
