g>Columbus, OH --- Bob Key’s homebred trotter Winning Mister has not yet joined the ranks of millionaires, but at the rate he is going it won’t take long.

On Leap Year Day, earlier this week, the Rich Gillock-trained son of Angus Hall capped a perfect February, and today was named February’s Horse of the Month by the U.S. Trotting Association.

Now a winner of $831,694, the 6-year-old began the month with a win in a conditioned race at The Meadows in a divisional track record 1:52.4 as a prelude to capturing three straight Meadows’ Preferred trots in 1:53.1, 1:54 and again in a record-equaling 1:52.4. He was driven in all four starts by Dick Stillings.

Winning Mister won 11 times in 27 starts last year, and faced some of the sport’s top trotters in some of harness racing’s richest stakes and was named Trotter of the Year at Pocono Downs. This year, after having been briefly freshened in January, he seems ready to return to top form -- and join the Trotting Millionaire’s Club.
