Clocked in 1:50.3—the second fastest mile ever in the history of this stakes—the daughter of American Ideal won for the seventh time this season in 21 starts for trainer Chris Oakes and owners Susan Oakes of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and the Crawford Farms of Syracuse, N.Y.

Bred by Maryland’s Winbak Farm, Devil Child upped her career earnings to $354,851. She was virtually unchallenged throughout the mile, with her nearest rival, Triple V Hanover (David Miller) finishing second, while Daut Full (Scott Zeron) was further back in third.
