Trainer Greg Peck was in the sulky behind My Back Pages as the Brian Sears-driven Muscle Hill sat right behind in second. Muscle Hill took the lead at the top of the stretch and with a final quarter of :27.2 was able to open daylight over his competition. On June 25, Muscle Hill won a Big M qualifier by 18 lengths in 1:55.1.
Peck plans on starting Muscle Hill in the July 17 Stanley Dancer as a final prep for the Hambletonian, which has eliminations on Aug. 1 and then the nationally-televised final on Aug. 8.
Honorable Daughter who has not raced after reportedly suffering bruised heels following her win in the Empire Breeders Classic final at Vernon Downs in May, was a seven-length winner in 1:55.3 in her qualifier for driver John Campbell and trainers Ray and Larry Remmen. It is expected that the daughter of Malabar Man’s next start will come in the Delvin Miller Memorial at the Meadowlands on July 17.
