Washington, PA --- She Glides, the 1-2 favorite, powered to the lead at the quarter and drew off to triumph by 12-1/2 lengths in 1:56.3, fastest in Wednesday’s (April 8) opening leg of the Daylon Miracle Trot for 3-year-old fillies at The Meadows. The time matches the fastest this year for sophomore fillies on a five-eighths-mile track.


The opening leg was conducted over three divisions, with Byfleet Hanover and Donato Babe taking the other $14,000 splits. The series honors Daylon Miracle, a top performer in the Bill Bercury stable.


Away third, She Glides moved easily to the front for Jim Pantaleano and had no challengers thereafter, lowering her lifetime mark by 2.4 seconds. Mercer County was a distant second while RV Janet earned show. Jennifer Sabot trains the daughter of Glidemaster-Some Like It Lindy for Little Bapa LLC.


In the $18,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Pace, At Press Time rallied from worst to first in the final quarter for Tony Hall and scored in 1:51.1 to down Dew N Doughnuts by a length, with Hillbilly Hanover third. Ron Burke conditions the 4-year-old son of Western Terror-So Right, who now boasts $438,872 in career earnings, for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.


Elsewhere on Wednesday’s card, Mattamerican captured the $15,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life Pace in 1:50.4, fastest mile this year by a 4-year-old stallion on a five-eighths-mile track. Dave Palone piloted the son of Allamerican Native-Mattadorable for conditioner Norm Parker and owner/breeder Bob Key.


Hall, Aaron Merriman and trainer Randy Bendis each fashioned a triple on the 14-race program.
